I went 3-2.
YouTube interjection:
Recap from last week’s Week #3 Recap post:
I did top-down recording to see if viewers prefer top-down vs POV.
I drip fed the upload to 1 video/day from last Wednesday to this past Tuesday, 4/02-4/08.
Results:
There is generally a higher view count for the Week #3 videos vs Week #2 videos, but I can’t tell how much of it is from the above changes and/or if it’s due to the interest in the decks. Not surprisingly, my past weekend’s uploads got significantly fewer views than the norm, which I’m attributing to the Denver Sector Qualifier coverage.
The issue is that it’s also hard for me to isolate the deck variable itself (varying interest). I’m also a bit limited on what I can play depending on what Alyssa plays.
Anyways, going to continue the top-down videos (unless people request otherwise) and drip feed the uploads. Personally, I think the POV videos are better competitively, because it gives an insight to my resourcing decisions, but I’m beholden to almost whatever the algorithm wants 🙇📈.
Deck - Sabine ECL
Reminder: the suspensions were announced on 4/09, the day after this weekly.
I know some lists took out The Darksabers, but I still kind of like them, even in the Jango Tarkintown matchup.
Matchups
Preface: At the moment, these are mostly unlisted videos. Scheduled videos are set to private due to how YouTube’s scheduled publishing feature works. I’m scheduling one unlisted video a day to be public.
Vs SOR Luke Green 1-0
Their turn 1 Alliance Dispatcher + Luke’s shield was such a headache, because it gave them so much value.
Vs Yoda Data Vault 0-1
Their turn 2 Village Protectors stalled me so much.
Vs Jango Tarkintown 1-0
Base race.
There was a judge call during the second, for funsies, game at the @11:00 timestamp.
Vs Hera Lake Country 0-1
I totally didn’t pay attention to base health and just kept hitting their base. Their SOR Sabine Wren unit having its text active was impactful, because it nullified my ECL + ground unit plays.
Vs Jango Tarkintown 1-0
Base race.
Post-Weekly: Casual Games Matchups
Per these videos’ descriptions, I was literally editing and uploading these games right after the Tuesday’s weekly to try to get some views before the suspension announcement was made the following day. These and the above Jango videos are going to be irrelevant going forward.
Sabine ECL vs Jango Tarkintown 1-0
Cad Bane Colossus vs Jango Tarkintown 1-1
Jango Tarkintown vs Jango Tarkintown 2-0
Conclusion
I flubbed pretty hard in the Hera Lake Country match.
After the weekly, while some peeps were playing NYT Connections via screen sharing to one of the store’s TVs (this is becoming the norm), Kevin O (the store owner) played several games with me. Despite the next day’s suspension announcement, he was still playing his Jango Tarkintown deck just to play it (he only played it at like one weekly in total).
