We technically could’ve stopped at 3 rounds, because there was only one undefeated player at that point, but the store paired us for a fourth round anyways.
Alyssa went 2-2 (including a bye), I went 3-1 (including a bye).
Prizing:
1st got two boxes
2nd got one box (me)
3rd got 8 packs (?)
4th-11th each got two packs (?)
Everyone also got a Weekly Play pack (we pulled a Foil Han Solo!)
Aside from the decks shown via the below videos, I also saw a Phasma and a Lando deck. Not sure of the rest of the field as I just kinda stayed in my corner with my camera setup.
Deck - JTL Boba Yellow
First time bringing this deck out. I realized that my deck isn’t great into a ground heavy deck in the morning before the event, so the last minute change I made was swapping 3x Torpedo Barrage for 3x SOR Boba Fett.
Matchups
First time getting a Bye, so here’s Alyssa’s first round:
Jango Tarkintown (Alyssa) vs JTL Boba Yellow 1-2
I was mostly spectating this match during my bye. Got a bit annoyed at Alyssa’s misplay with Stay on Target with Ruthless Raider in her third game and how she asked about the interaction right after playing it. She made some good resourcing decisions though.
Vs Poe Red 2-1
My opponent never deployed his leader as a pilot. I mentioned this in our post-match discussion, and they said that they should have.
Vs Jango Tarkintown 1-2
Strong player, they ended up being 1st in the event.
Vs Anakin Colossus 2-0
First game was a bit scary when they were able to stick a SOR Luke Skywalker.
Conclusion
A bit disappointed in Alyssa’s performance, but better to learn earlier on than later.
